No exact released date was announced for the game on Verizon but Microsoft and 343 Industries previously promised that it would be released in July at a $6.99 price. There's no word on if this timed exclusivity deal with Verizon affects the Windows 8 PC release.
Halo: Spartan Assault features an original story starring Sarah Palmer not long after the start of the Spartan IV program between Halo 3 and Halo 4. It is a top-down third-person shooter with 25 missions against the Covenant in the same sandbox style for weapons and vehicles as other Halo titles.
The game will also have Xbox LIVE Achievements, Weekly Challenges, unlockable emblems and online leaderboards. In-app purchases for experience boosts and unique weapons and armor abilities will also be available.
