Doomsday and Hereafter

I think all religions talk about the doomsday and the hereafter. Only those who do not have religions do not believe in both the doomsday and the hereafter. In my religion, Islam, both the doomsday and the hereafter should be believed in by Muslims. Otherwise, their good deeds will not help them in the hereafter. We, Muslims, believe that there will be only two places in the hereafter?Heaven and Hell. According to the Holy Quran, Article 7 (The Elevated Places), verse 25, God says, ?Therein shall you live, and therein shall you die, and from it shall you be raised.? This verse is related to the previous verse that says, ?He said: Get forth, some of you, the enemies of others, and there is for you in the earth an abode and a provision for a time.? Based on these two verses in the Holy Book, the author of the book entitled ?Ternyata Akhirat Tidak Kekal? (meaning ?the hereafter is not eternal?) has drawn a conclusion that the hereafter will still be in the same planet?the planet we are now in.

According to him, possibly based on his knowledge of astronomy and information on the Holy Book of Quran, as well as the theory of Big Bang, the doomsday will happen in the next three thousand year. The dooms day will occur not because of the wars or all planets in the universe colliding one another. The doomsday will happen because our planet, still in its path, will enter meteor-filled cloud. Because of this, the planet will be attacked by millions or even more of meteors in different sizes. The huge meteors break apart as they penetrate through the atmosphere. Some parts of the meteors are torn apart into dusts, and the other parts going down toward the earth. All living things will be destroyed, and all human beings, as described in the Holy Quran, will be thrown up into the sky as a result of the meteors hitting the surface of the earth.

Agus Mustofa, the author of the book, also explained in his book that the earth will need about three billion years to be recovered and ready to allow the next phase of living. All human beings will be raised; each will be alive in different physical conditions. In this hereafter, the real judgment day will start. All human beings after judged by God shall become two groups?right group and left group. The right group will enter Heaven, and the left will live permanently in Hell. In Article 11, verses 107-108 of the Holy Quran, the two groups will live there so long as the heavens and the earth endure.
